Why do we need positive and negative ions?
There is a lot of fresh and clear air in the high mountains due to massive of positive and negative ions. As a result, more people are recovering their illness and also live longer staying in very high attitude.
As mother of nature, we have to balance the massive of the positive and negative ions in order to give you a fresh and clear air as in high mountains. Normal ion levels are from 1,000 to 4,000 ions per cubic centimeter in fresh country air, with a ratio of 5 positive to 4 negative ions. The typical office, however, may contain as few as 20 negative and 35 positive ions per cubic centimeter.

How are they beneficial?
It is now medically recognized that degenerative skin conditions, such as ageing, wrinkles and skin discolorations are caused primarily by free-radical damage. Molecules attempting to repair themselves in this way trigger a cascading event called "free-radical damage." The action of free-radical damage takes place in a fraction of a second. Theoretically, free-radical damage can cause deterioration of the skin's support structures, decreasing elasticity and resilience.

Plasma Ion Tower does not have a filter, how do they purify the air?
Virtually all air-borne particles have a positive charge. When ionizers releases the negative ions, the free floating positively charged particles will be magnetically attracted to the negative ions. This will cause these air-borne particles to "clump" together. When this happens, they will become heavier than the air and drop to the floor.

What is the difference between Ions and Ozone, and what do they do?
There are two types of pollutants: Particulate and Gases. Therefore, the use of ions, ozone are necessary in order to reduce each of them and to improve indoor air quality. Ionization is the process of emitting energy into the air which will then create negative ions. Virtually all particles (i.e. dust, soot, fumes, etc) have a positive charge whereas negative ions have a negative charge. These will cause the pollutants (the positive particles) and the negative ions to clump together until they become heavy enough to drop from the air by gravitational forces. The second process is oxidation, using "activated oxygen". It is extremely reactive with hundreds of chemicals and gasses, and breaks the majority of them into carbon dioxide and water vapor. It is also very effective in reducing odors from microbiological substances such as bacteria, mold, mildew, etc. Ozone can alter and decompose certain gasses, chemicals, mold, bacteria, odors such as those generated by cigarette smoke.

What's the difference between negative ions and ozone?
A lot! Negative ions are molecules of oxygen (O2) in the air with an extra electron. Ozone is O3, a molecule of oxygen consisting of three oxygen atoms instead of the normal two. Negative ions primarily reduce particulates in the air such as dust and pollen, but they aren't as effective as ozone for eliminating odors. Ozone does not reduce the particulates in the air, but it is more effective at eliminating odors, even very strong odors. Too much ozone is bad for you.

What are ions?
Ions are formed when an electron is detached from a neutral molecule (or atom). The molecule losing an electron becomes a positive ion and the molecule gaining an electron becomes a negative ion. The earth itself produces negative ions. Our sun's energy is generated by the chain reaction of Hydrogen being converted into Helium, then back again. This process produces the heat that sustains life on Earth, but also showers our planet with positive ions of Hydrogen as a by-product.

What are negative ions?
Ion is any atom that has a positive or negative charge. A negative ion is an atom with a negative charge. Ions are electrically charged particles generated by natural radiation from the earth and sun, water spray and lightning. They are totally harmless to humans.

What is Oxygen?
Oxygen includes 21% of the atmosphere at all altitudes. The remaining atmosphere consists of 78% nitrogen and 1 % traces of other gases. Oxygen under normal conditions is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, non-combustible gas. It is the most important single element on earth. At each breath we fill our lungs with air. Millions of tiny air sacs (known as "alveoli") in our lungs inflate like tiny balloons.

Are Plasma Ion Tower air purifiers more effective than HEPA filters?
Yes. Plasma ions can remove particles of a much smaller size than HEPA filters (the most effective filter). They also cover a larger area much more thoroughly. This is due to the fact that air-filters filters rely on the air passing through the unit in order to be "purified". Most airborne particulate in a room will not pass through a stationary filter though. On the other hand, with the Plasma Ions, millions of positive and negative ions are continually being generated and are then transported throughout the room/open area by way of the existing air currents.
